Pennsylvania’s Children’s Health Insurance Program
CHIP Strong
Goals
PA DHS asked for Mendoza’s assistance in refreshing the CHIP brand. As part of our collaboration with PA DHS, we implemented a comprehensive outreach strategy to connect families in rural areas with the assistance they need for their children. The overarching goal was to educate guardians and child advocates of uninsured children about the benefits and services of the CHIP insurance program.
Tactics
- Mendoza developed the “CHIP Strong” concept, inspired by our belief that everyone possesses a profound capacity for strength. Whether it’s the child who colors outside the lines, the one engrossed in a book in the school library, or the one whose kindness brings a smile to another lonely child.
- To spread awareness and educate local residents about CHIP, we attended 30 events over three months in rural communities. Additionally, we hosted information sessions and enrollment events at 15 local libraries, supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants.
- We reached out to 66 employers across 9 counties, providing materials for distribution in employee break rooms and new hire orientations. We also placed a 15-second pre-roll video on the Motor Vehicle Network at all PennDot Driver License Centers statewide.
- Moreover, we developed four topical newsletters for 300 local organizations, further extending our outreach and support for CHIP.
