The PA Turnpike gets a lot of mileage… seriously. 360 miles of morning commutes, weekend trips, holiday dinners, family visits – you name it. The PA Turnpike Commission wanted to thank drivers for their trust in the roadway, and that’s where we came in.
Inspired by Pennsylvania’s tourism campaign, The Great American Getaway, we realized there was no better way to reward loyal drivers than with a getaway just off the road they know so well.
And how do you know when someone’s gone on a great trip? They tell you about it. Through a series of postcards from each getaway destination, we promoted compelling trips that are “worth writing home about.” And worth entering to win.
The postcard visuals illustrated some of the most appealing attractions Pennsylvania has to offer and showed drivers the perks of the Pocono Mountains, Seven Springs Resort, Omni Bedford Springs Resort, and Kalahari Resort – all accessible via the PA Turnpike.
Handwritten notes on the cards organically captured the vibe and energy of each getaway location. We kept an eye towards extending gratitude and showing off some of the best of the PA Turnpike exits.
The campaign appeared across print materials, web, social media, radio, Pandora, and Spotify. It appealed to drivers of all kinds, with getaways great for families, commercial drivers, daily commuters, and local travelers.
